What Pets do you care for?We care for all domestic pets, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, reptiles, etc.Do you board pets? No. We believe pets are happier in their own homes. We are an in-home professional pet sitting company, which means we take care of your pets in the comfort of your own home. Our Headquarters is located in New Orleans, LA. We are a locally – female owned company. Our pet sitters live with-in a five (5) mile radius of your home to provide superior local coverage.

How do People Qualify to become a Pawspitality Expert?To become a Pawspitality Expert, you must have industry experience, through a rigorous interview process, including passing a criminal background check, one-on-one training, and supervised visits before being allowed to take on visits alone. Once hired, every Pawspitality Expert must maintain a Pet First Aid/CPR certification renewed every year and continued pet behavior training classes.

How will you access my home?Southern Pawspitality prefers not to take possession of client keys. Our Pawspitality Experts will access your house using keys stored in a lockbox(a) or using an electronic key(b). (a) You can provide your own lock box or purchase a lock box from us. (b) If you use electronic locks, key fobs, or garage code access, keys must be hidden on the property or with neighbors in case of power outages or low battery issues.

Are you Insured?Southern Pawspitality is covered by an Employee Dishonesty Bond. A dishonesty bond gives you peace of mind that you will be reimbursed if anything is stolen from your home. We also carry a Two Million Dollar liability insurance policy that protects from financial loss in the event that we were liable for accidents that occur while caring for your pets or your home. We are happy to provide our clients with proof of insurance and our bond. We are bonded and insured with Pet Care Insurance Company.

What is your Privacy Policy?Southern Pawpitality is committed to keeping all information we receive from our clients confidential and will not disclose any of your personal information. We will only use your information to take excellent care of your pets and home while you are away. We do not sell your information to any third party; and all your information is stored safely.

Do you provide any type of Satisfaction Guarantee?You want to know that your pets and your home will be cared for to your exact specifications. We guarantee it every time! If you are not 100% satisfied with the service that was provided, we will gladly address your concerns. We believe in lasting client relationships, so our service is only complete when you return home and are completely satisfied.

What if there is an emergency, and my pet requires medical attention?In the event of pet illness or other medical emergency and the specified vet is unavailable, The pet will be taken to the closest vet or Emergency Care Hospital. We will contact your emergency contact if we cannot reach you, so please leave instructions with your emergency contact.

What do you do in inclement weather?Rain or shine, we’ll be there. We will not walk if there is a torrential downpour, hail, or dangerous lightning. We don’t want to put your dog or our Pawspitality Experts at risk. We also take into consideration how your dog feels about walking in the rain. Some love it; others would rather stay indoors. We can take them out to relieve themselves and then spend the rest of the time playing indoors with them and giving them even more love!

Do you do any pack-walking?No. We provide individual attention and care to each of our pet clients.

What is the importance of mid-day dog walks?A well-exercised dog is a happy dog and is, therefore, less likely to display destructive behavior in your home. Also, a refreshing break during the day can help alleviate separation anxiety and provide a much-needed potty break. If you are gone most of the day, your pet is home alone; a daily walk will provide that much-needed attention when you are away.

How many visits per day do I need for my pet(s)?You know what is best for you and your pet(s). For inside dogs, we require a minimum of two (2) visits per day. The most common for inside dogs is three visits each day. It depends on your pet’s needs and your comfort level. Outside pets require a minimum of one (1) visit a day. Crated and confined dogs require a minimum of three (3) visits a day, (2) thirty- minute visits, and (1) 15-minute visit. For cats, we do a minimum of one (1) visit per day.

How many pets are included in your base prices?Our prices include care for one (1) pet. Each additional pet is a minimal charge of $2.00 per pet. Southern Pawspitality never charges extra for administering pills, or house-sitting tasks while we are in your home.

Can you leash-train my dog?We can reinforce proper leash walking them various walking tools (Easy Walk harnesses, treats, Gentle Leaders, etc.) that all provide positive reinforcement training. We’ve found most dogs that are learning to walk properly on a leash do best when on a consistent walking schedule and that you walk them yourself when you are home with them. Practice makes perfect! We also have some dog trainers on staff that you can set up training appointments.

Do you Administer Medications?Yes. We can administer oral medications, creams, and ointments. We do charge a fee for Sub-q fluids glucose monitoring and insulin or other injections. Most of our Pawspitality Experts are or have been vet techs, and all are Pet CPR/First Aid Certified.

Will the same sitter come to my home for all visits?Our goal is to have a primary sitter for each client. It’s important for the sitter to develop a relationship with our clients and a bond with their pets. However, if an emergency or your primary sitter is booked, we will send a backup sitter in their place. We are always more than happy to set up another Free Meet & Greet Visit with the backup sitter.

Do you provide boarding services?No, we do not board animals. Southern Pawspitality is an alternative to boarding. Our professional Pet Sitters come to your home and care for your pets in their natural home environment.

Do you accommodate last-minute requests?We strive to accommodate last-minute requests, however; our Pawspitality Expert’s schedules book up very quickly, so we cannot guarantee their availability. We do charge a last-minute request fee to compensate sitters for rearranging their schedules. Last Minute Request Fees - Same Day: $10.00; Next Day: $5.00 For new clients we require one (1) weeks’ notice to allow time to set up a FREE Meet and Greet Visit and work them into our schedule. We book up quickly in the summer and on all major holidays, so try to book in advance! During busy times, we have been booked months in advance.

Do you charge extra on Holidays?Yes. An additional holiday charge of $10.00 per visit will apply for all clients booking visits on the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and each Mardi Gras day from Muses Thursday through Fat Tuesday.

Do you charge for more than 1 pet?Yes, each additional pet is $2.00 per service.

How am I billed?Southern Pawspitality accepts all major credit cards and debit cards. Invoices are due on the day before your service begins; however, you may choose to pay partial payments or the total any time before using the portal or app. If we have not received payment by the day before your services begin, we will automatically charge your card. If a client requests to extend service, they guarantee payment at the same rate for all services at the time of requested change.

Is Tipping Allowed?Please treat our service as you would any other service. Our Pawspitality Experts are very excited to receive a token of your appreciation for a job well done. You can tip right on your invoice you receive from Southern Pawspitality at any time and all tips are given to your Pawspitality Expert!

What information is included in your client agreement?Policies & Procedures Payment Policy: Payments for all services are to be paid in full before services begin. Southern Pawpitality, LLC accepts all major credit cards only. Credit cards will automatically be charged at least 2 days before service(s) begin. (Holiday bookings require 50% downpayment upon booking and the balance is due 2 weeks in advance of services starting). If Client requests to extend service, the Client guarantees payment at the same rate for all services provided upon request in addition to last-minute fees. If you wish to tip the Pet Sitter, please add to your invoice in the INVOICE tab in your portal or leave cash. You can also contact the office if you would like to leave gratuity after you return. The office can add it to your credit card on file. Dog Walking Packages: All walks must be used same month purchased. No credit for unredeemed walks and packages are billed immediately. Surcharge Policy: Last Minute Request Fees: Same Day: $10 Next Day: $5 Specific Time Request Fees: $5.00 per visit will be added to each service that requires a specific time Cancellation Policy: Pet Sitting, Dog Walking and Pet Taxi Service Requests 24 plus hours: No Charge 15 plus days*: No Charge 14 days – 8 days*: 50% of holiday visits 7 days – 24 hours*: 100% of holiday visits 30 or fewer hours: 100% of remaining scheduled visits up to 30 hours Wedding Pet Attendant Requests Day of reservation: 50% Non-refundable deposit 0 or more days*: 100% of request 7 or fewer days: 100% of request * Request(s) falling on a holiday Holidays: Holiday Fees are and additional $10.00 per visit. New Years Eve, New Years Day, Mardi Gras Day and during parades in your area, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Credit / Refund Policy: Cancellation of visits not on a holiday will be credited to future services ONLY; No Refunds. Cancellation of visits on a holiday will be forfeited; No Credits or Refunds will be given. Emergency Care Policy: In the event of pet illness or other medical emergency and specified vet is unavailable, the pet will be taken to closest vet or Emergency Care Hospital. Client understands and agrees that attempts will be made to contact them in the case of emergency, and if Client is unreachable, Pet Sitter has permission to authorize any care that the vet deems necessary for pet's health safety and survival. Client agrees to reimburse Southern Pawspitality, LLC for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence, which may include x-rays, blood work, surgery and/or other expensive procedures, as well as an emergency medical transport fee. For the safety of your pet and others, pets must have current vaccinations. Should Pet Sitter be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from Client's animal which has not been properly vaccinated, it will be the Client's responsibility to pay all costs and damages incurred by the victim. If a dog should bite an independent contractor, the client is responsible for arranging care, either a friend, family member or kenneling for the dog for the remainder of the visit series. The client will incur all costs related to the alternate care and medical expenses related to any injury. Extra Fees / Charges Policy: Southern Pawspitality, LLC reserves the right to invoice/bill, at $15.00 per half hour or any portion thereof, for additional time spent overstated visit time that is necessary for the care of Client's pet(s) and home. This includes service and time for the following, but not limited to: all veterinary trips; pet illness; excessive clean-up resulting from pet incontinence, accidents or frequent vomiting; complications administering medications; obtaining pet food, medication or supplies; wait time for emergency home repair; search for pet(s) that escaped confinement. The client will be held responsible for all expenses incurred and reimburse Southern Pawspitality, LLC upon return. Multiple Pet Policy: Southern Pawspitality, LLC reserves the right to assign additional Pet Sitters in the event the number of pets exceeds the ability of a single Pet Sitter to provide expected care. An additional Pet Sitter will be added to each visit and compensated at their full rate. The Client will be held responsible for all expenses incurred and reimburse Southern Pawspitality, LLC upon return. Crated and Confined Pet Policy: We have a minimum of 3 visits per day for dogs crated or confined in small areas. Two 30 minute visits and one 15 minute visit, at a minimum. Outdoor Pet Policy: All pets housed outdoors or with outdoor access must have adequate shelter with access to shade and water. There must be a cold & hot weather plan in place when temperatures drop below freezing or exceed 95°. Dogs and cats must have tags and be microchipped. Declawed cats will not be left outdoors unattended. In the event, a pet escapes confinement Client understands and agrees that attempts will be made to contact them. If the Client is unreachable, Pet Sitter has permission to extend the visit to search for the pet as necessary. If animal control Client recovers the pet, the Client agrees to reimburse Southern Pawspitalityl, LLC for any additional fees and all costs relating to pet recovery during their absence, which may include vaccinations, fees and/or other expenses, as well as a transport fee. House Access Policy: Lock boxes can be sold by Southern Pawspitality, LLC, or you may use your own. Southern Pawspitality, LLC will not take possession of client keys. It is the client's responsibility to ensure the lock box is in working condition and is placed in a secure location outside of the home before visits. Two (2) tested key copies should be placed inside. Do not add key tags or key rings. If clients use electronic locks, key fobs and garage code access, keys must be hidden on the property or with a neighbor in case of power outages or low battery issues. Privacy Policy: Southern Pawspitality, LLC respects your privacy. Across our business and where you interact with us around the world, we will only collect, store and use your personal information for defined purposes. We use your information to support and enhance our relationship with you, for example, to process your orders, provide service and support, and to share product, service and company news and offerings with you. We do not sell your personal information. We only share your personal data outside of Southern Pawspitality, LLC group of companies with your consent, as required by law to protect Southern Pawspitality, LLC, its customers, or the public, or with companies that help Southern Pawspitality, LLC fulfill its obligations with you, and then only with partners who share Southern Pawspitality, LLC’s commitment to protecting your privacy and data. At any time, you may contact Southern Pawspitality, LLC with any privacy questions or concerns you may have. You also may ask at any time to see the personal data that you have given us and request correction or deletion. We strive to protect the security of your personal data by use of appropriate measures and processes. Information regarding you (such as name, address, and telephone number or email address) or your order and the products you purchase will not be given out or sold to any outside organization for its use in marketing or solicitation without your consent. Terms & Conditions Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, Southern Pawspitality, LLC and Pet Sitters cannot be held responsible for any unusual mishaps (i.e., pet's refusal to take medication, escaping from the yard, biting, eating or destroying household items, damage to inside/outside of home, personal injury/accidental death). If Client requests pet(s) to have outside access, Client releases Southern Pawspitality, LLC and Pet Sitters from all liability for loss, injury or death to pet(s). The Client is liable for injury or damage to Third Parties. Client authorizes Southern Pawspitality, LLC Pet Sitters to take photos of Client's pet for their file and Southern Pawspitality, LLC social media. All photos taken are the property of The Pet Gal, LLC. Visit times are approximate and subject to change based on the needs of all pets under Pet Sitter's care. Pet Sitter is entrusted to use the best judgment in caring for the pet(s) and home, in the event of an emergency situation, inclement weather or natural disaster. Southern Pawspitality, LLC and Pet Sitters will be held harmless for consequences related to such decisions. In the event of injury or illness of your Pet Sitter or other emergency circumstances where duties are unable to be performed, Client authorizes Southern Pawspitality, LLC to arrange for a backup sitter to take over duties as outlined in this agreement. Southern Pawspitality, LLC reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time before or during its term if Pet Sitter determines that Client's pet poses a danger to the health or safety of herself/himself or others. If concerns prohibit Pet Sitter from caring for the pet, Client authorizes pet to be placed in a kennel with all charges to be charged to Client. Southern Pawspitality, LLC and Pet Sitters agree to provide the services stated in this agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Southern Pawspitality, LLC except those arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Southern Pawspitality, LLC or Pet Sitters.
